Producing a local product is not easy in the textile world but it is rewarding. I have been fortunate to have worked in a manufacturing environment for over 20 years. One of the great satisfactions of this business is seeing garments that your team has developed in action in the work place. It establishes a strong sense of pride in what you do and motivation to developing the next project.
Staying local also allows us to keep in touch with our customers during the design process making sure we design the best product. We talk with our customers and provide them with the small features that make a difference to the gear that works for them. We work directly with our manufacturing staff assembling our garments making sure our designs are built in a durable way that lasts. Having so many involved in the process makes for a superior better product and more engaged customers and employees.
Over the years the pressure to move production offshore has been overwhelming, the cost savings one can find are often significant. We have in the past, succumbed to these pressures and each time we have lost control of our product; quality and commitment to the product fall.
Under the Sevaen brand Climate Technical Gear is committed to manufacturing 100% of our products in Canada. In restarting our business we have dedicated ourselves to local production with aspirations that this will translate into opportunity for all.
